وقال د. خالد مجاهد مستشار وزير الصحة والسكان للشئون الإعلامية والمتحدث الرسمي باسم الوزارة إن هناك 168 حالة جديدة أثبتت أنها إيجابية للتحليل المختبري للفيروس ، وجميعهم مصريون. وهذا هو أعلى معدل للإصابات اليومية في مصر ، 8 أكثر من المستوى القياسي السابق البالغ 160 الذي سجلته البلاد في 14 أبريل.
عاد معدل الوفيات اليومي إلى الارتفاع مرة أخرى ، مسجلاً 13 حالة وفاة اليوم ، مقارنة بـ 5 حالات فقط أمس. من ناحية أخرى ، انخفض إجمالي معدل الوفيات اليوم إلى 7.3٪ ، بعد أن تجاوز 7.5٪ قبل بضعة أيام.
أعلنت وزارة الصحة والسكان ، اليوم الخميس ، أن 43 من المصابًبن خرجوا من مستشفيات العزل والحجر الصحي ، بما في ذلك 3 أجانب ، وبذلك يصل إجمالي الذين تم شفائهم من الفيروس إلى 596 حالة حتى الآن.
