In Science 1921, the great writer, Abbas Mahmoud al-Akkad, described the two sisters, Raya and Sakina, as dead souls. Since then, the two have entered history as symbols of pure evil, and none of the historians has bothered to investigate the truth about the crimes attributed to them or to research them. about the motives that led them to commit it. This book is an attempt to narrate the true biography of "Ria" and "Sakina" and all of the men and women who surrounded them, and the general political and economic circumstances. .

This book was written by Salah Issa

Exclusively in pictures, for the first time: From the memory of history: The complete file: Raya and Sakina... the two most famous butchers in history

Place of events: Al-Lubban neighborhood in Alexandria, Egypt.

Event time: 1920

The main characters:

* Sakina Ali Hammam
* Raya Ali Hammam
* Mohamed Abdel-Aal
* According to God, Marai

Crimes:

"Prostitution and drugs, bullying and killing women in order to steal their gold artifacts"... and a long series of heinous crimes that occurred at the hands of the Alexandrian butchers Raya and Sakina Ali Hammam with the help of their husbands and other unscrupulous associates.

The story of Raya and Sakina is a living embodiment of one of the heinous crimes that shook Egypt in the year 1920. The scene was the Al-Lubban neighborhood, the poorest area in the port of Alexandria, which witnessed the killing of 17 women without mercy, and their bodies were buried inside the house that was used in various suspicious actions.

(Sidi Imad Street, which is next to the shrine of one of the righteous saints, and Raya and Sakina used to swear by it, God forbid)

Raya and Sakina began a series of brutal crimes in Alexandria in early November 1919, at a time when the coastal city was preoccupied with the famous popular uprisings by leaders against the occupying British forces, allowing the gang to operate with impunity.

(Ali al-Kabir Street, in which Raya and Sakina used to live in the Al-Lubban neighborhood)

One of the victims...the tenth

The criminal gang began working in Alexandria for more than three years, after coming from Upper Egypt to Beni Suef and Kafr El Zayat to marry Raya to Hasaballah Saeed Merhi, while her sister Sakina worked in a brothel until she fell in love with a man.

(Firdaws, the last victim of Raya and Sakina used to live here)

Raya, accompanied by her husband, and Sakina, accompanied by her lover, moved to many places that attracted victims, as four houses witnessed the occurrence of crimes, including the Zanqat al-Sat market near Mansheya Square, from which the two butchers hunted most of their victims, and the addresses of the houses are: 5 Makoris Street in the Karmouz neighborhood 38 Ali Bek Al-Kabeer Street, 16 Al-Najat Lane, 8 Al-Najat Alley.

(Maryam Al-Shamiya's coffee, Sakina's friend)

Raya used to go to the market and choose the person who had the many ornaments and jewelry in her hand, and she would talk to her to get close to her, and then offer her utensils from the customs area claiming that they are at cheap prices, and Raya would bring the victim to the house to kill her with the help of her husband, sister, and her sister’s lover, in addition to Hassan’s godfathers. and Abdel Razek Youssef, who are one of the assistants.

(The shop of the jeweler Ali, who used to buy from Raya and the gold knife of the dead)

The beginning of the communications came through the forty-year-old Mrs. Zainab Hassan to the Alexandria Police Hakamdar in mid-January 1920, referring in her complaint to the disappearance of her 25-year-old daughter, Nazla Abu Al-Lail, without stealing anything from her daughter's apartment, and the mother's communication ended in the midst of Expressing her fear that she killed her daughter with the aim of stealing her gold jewelry.

(This is the house that Sakina used to live in, and she and Raya killed some of the victims in it)

The second communication came in mid-March of the same year, received by the head of the Alexandria Prosecution Office, from the citizen Mahmoud Morsi, stating that his sister, Zanouba, the wife of Hassan Muhammad Zaidan, had disappeared, and although the author mentioned the names “Raya and Sakina” because they were the last two who were with his sister, the security authorities I excluded them from the suspicions and the investigation department.

(The house of Raya and Sakina in Al-Naja neighborhood, where Raya lived for a while before moving to Ali Bek Al-Kabeer neighborhood)

As for the third communication, it was sent by "Umm Ibrahim", a 15-year-old girl, who confirmed in her communication to the security authorities in Alexandria the disappearance of her mother, Zanouba Aliwa, "a 36-year-old bird seller", and the girl indicated in her communication that the last person she met with her mother were Raya and Sakina!

(The original house of Raya and Sakina after it was renovated by the owner of the house)

At the same time, a report came from Hassan Al-Shennawi, who works next to a police station, confirming that Nabawiyya Ali had disappeared twenty days ago, so that a state of terror, panic, and panic circulated throughout Alexandria after the reports that were submitted, and all the circumstances are similar with the difference in time and place.

The burial place of the victims

The resounding surprise came when, on the morning of December 11, 1920, a military patrol found the body of a woman with bone remains and long head hair with skull bones and all parts of the body separated from each other. Next to the corpse was a veil of black gauze and a black drink.

(Part of the original home of Raya and Sakina and where the bodies were buried)

The policemen were bewildered because they did not identify the owner of the body, and surprises continued with the arrival of a man named Ahmed Morsi Abdo who submitted a report to the frankincense department saying that while he was digging inside his room to bring water in, he found human bones in the house that was being rented by a man named Muhammad Ahmed Al-Samni, who was renting. House chambers for self-employed subcontractors are among those

Sakina bint Ali, especially since she rented the room in which the man found the body under the floor!

(In this land, 12 bodies of the victims of Raya and Sakina were buried)

After the body appeared, the informants searched the area for any clues leading to the accused, and one of the informants, Ahmed Al-Barqi, noticed an intense smell of incense emanating from Raya's room on the ground floor on Ali Bek Al-Kabeer Street, which raised his suspicions, and he indicated in his communication that when he asked Raya about this smell, she confirmed She does this in order to kill the scent of the drunken men who enter the place with her sister.

(Mohammed Khafaji Seddik Raya's store)

But Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi was not convinced of this, and ordered the room to be evacuated and the attic removed, only to discover that the room’s tiles were recent, and the smell of mustiness rose in an unbearable way for a person. At that time, a woman’s corpse appeared, causing Raya to be confused, and he decided to take Raya to the frankincense department, so that the committee present at the crime scene told him that the body had been found. The second one has the seal of Hasab Allah tied around his neck, which seems to have fallen from him while burying the bodies, given that his specialty within the gang is burying bodies.

The officer kept watching them a lot, disguised as more than twenty personalities, the most famous of which was the chicken seller, the potato seller, and the boy selling cigarettes.

Their neighbors saw and heard everything, but they feared them because of the many thugs around them who were their followers

Raya confessed in the department to the crimes after the discovery of the third body, and the security forces and the judges of Alexandria ordered to search under the tiles of all the places where the two butchers were, so that many bodies were found under the tiles, and Lieutenant Ahmed Abdullah of the Investigation Force found jewelry, pictures and a bill of exchange (such as a check) for one hundred and twenty pounds in Orabi's house. The same officer also found papers and other documents in the house of the rest of the defendants.

(The section in which Raya and Sakina's confessions took place)

The prosecution singled out the largest proof witness in the case, Badia bint Raya, who asked for safety before confessing, so that her aunt and husband would not take revenge on her.

Control assistant

On May 16, 1921, corresponding to Ramadan 8, 1339, President Ahmad Bey al-Solh Musa issued a death sentence against Raya, Sakina, their husbands, and two "thugs" who participated in the actual killing of women, while Hassan Ali Muhammad al-Sayegh was sentenced to five years in prison for buying the victims' jewelry.

(Ria's execution paper)

the judge

After a quarter of an hour of the noise that prevailed in the court, the terror of the people and the defendants calmed down, and the thugs were taken to prisons to carry out the death penalty against them, so that this disturbing page of Egyptian life turned, and calm returned to the coastal city that lost its charm for two years with the blood of the victims, and people began to communicate The events of this story pass from generation to generation to a different vision.

Who is the first inhabitant of Raya and Sakina's house in Alexandria after their execution?

The house of Raya and Sakina, located behind the police station in the Al-Lubban neighborhood, became deserted for a long time, and no one dared to live in it after confirmed rumors spread of the presence of ghosts and goblins in it, and rumors spread that there were ghosts and goblins walking in the street at night in order to take revenge on everyone, and the residents confirmed that they saw ghosts with their own eyes to the extent that they do not They walk down the street of the house.

This isolation and fear remained until the mid-fifties, when one of the bullies whom the residents called him Mahmoud Ibn Raya decided, due to the many quarrels and problems he was doing in the region and considering him the biggest thug in it, and to show his bullying and control he used to enter the house at night and sleep in it, until he took it as his residence for a long time in the middle of The astonishment and admiration of the people of the region for his courage.

Raya and Sakina's crime file is complete, and who among us does not know the series of crimes that took place in Egypt in 1920, which were committed by Raya and Sakina...

Although nearly a century has passed since their story, their biography is still circulating in every home and on every lip and tongue. The historical story of the two women ignited

(Raya and Sakina) The imagination of many writers and directors flooded their imaginative ideas with new ideas, fueled their writing ambitions and gave them an indescribable impetus, and the matter did not stop at the limits of artistic works, but rather became an example of them, even among girlfriends, when two girls meet for a long friendship, they are said ( Such as Raya and Sakina) and when two sisters described as Priya and Sakina agreed, and even good deeds were associated with the name of those two women, when their reputation spread about their closeness even if it was evil, but few know the true story of these two women except through what films and plays present about them, even the new series (Raya and Sakina), starring Abla Kamel and Sumaya al-Khashab, which is closer to the real story in some of its treatments.

Knife

Two respectable artists

Although generations have passed since the story, people's memory is active every season and with reading any news about any crime that may occur. In the year 2000, a newspaper told us of a similar crime, but with a mother and her daughter, and this case returned to nourish the thoughts of writers and authors.

The first artwork that talked about the story of (Raya and Sakina) was the movie that was produced in 1955 and starred Najma Ibrahim as Raya, Zuzu Hamdi Al-Hakim as Sakina, and the actor Anwar Wajdi as the police officer who uncovers the crime.

However, the film did not depict the full details of the crimes and their facts, so that it was altered in some details to soften the artistic atmosphere on the viewer, and it was directed by Salah Abu Saif, who relied at that time on the news published by the newspapers about the accident, and after Raya’s character stuck to Ibrahim’s star, she appeared in a comic movie Another with the same title, with Ismail Yassin, shows the character in a satirical way about the crimes.

In a later period, a play was presented

(Raya and Sakina) starring Shadia and Suhair Al-Bably, so that the two criminals gain unprecedented sympathy from the audience through the method of the plot in which the writer Hussein Kamal presented the two characters in an emotional comic style, during which Raya and Sakina appeared as two victims of circumstances, the environment and ignorance, so they took revenge on society for their crimes, but God’s power punished them. Even in punishment, she also won sympathy from the public.

The most ironic film was the satirical movie with the same title presented by Younes Shalaby and Sherihan, where they embodied together the personality of the two killers to defraud on the one hand and discover facts about gangs on the other hand.

In any case, the phrase (Raya and Sakina), which was circulated by all artistic works, has become (rest easy, young woman) on the lips of everyone who wants to ridicule others, but in the current era, this issue has been presented again in an artistic way and plot that does not deviate from reality, written by Salah Issa and directed by Jamal Abdul Hamid, and the characters of Raya and Sakina appeared with Abla Kamel and Sumaya Al-Khashab as if they were real, since the story is closest to the truth, in terms of the personality of Raya, the teacher, and Sakina, the strong one who knows how to manage the affairs of herself and the affairs of others as well.

As well as in terms of the performance of each of the actors, Sami Al-Adl, with the character of Hasab Allah, the greedy, greedy person, and Riyad Al-Khouli, the weak in front of Sakina’s love, so he departs from social norms and traditions, and Ahmed Maher in the character of the thug, Orabi.

In the new work (Raya and Sakina), some real elements have been completed in portraying the humanitarian issue in the new season.

The characters of Raya and Sakina appear in their new plot in a lengthy manner, as they reach forty episodes that continue until after the month of Ramadan on Arab satellite channels. Despite this, a series of more than fifteen episodes of crime manifestations have not appeared yet, so the waiting is still in its infancy and the conclusion is gradually emerging.

On the other hand, Abla Kamel showed complete integration into the role as usual in her acting performance in any role she played, while Sumaya al-Khashab was the example of a capable actress who could move away from the romance and innocence that was given to her by directors and producers, because her soft features helped her to present roles full of femininity. However, she was able, through the character (Sakina), to show this femininity and exploit it in changing the course of the role to attract the viewer, first: through her beauty and soft personality, and second: to lure the viewer to follow her in how to show the hideous criminal character who was, in fact, a woman seeking to be She is tyrannical even before the gallows, where she said to Ashmawy: (I am once a stump) and she did not fear death because she considered it daring and cunning.

In terms of directing, director Gamal Abdel Hamid was able to show the places and focus on the expressions of the actors in a way that tells about an old era, even in some vulgar expressions that show the simplicity of people and the sophistication of others, especially street children and thugs.

Al-Qardati was the profession of most of their neighbors at the time

The question remains here: Will the writer show all the details of the true story and the roles that will follow from the facts of the people and the details of the informants who were not treated justly by other works of art, even though the informants have the largest and most prominent role in exposing the issue of crimes and the disappearance of women, and will he appear as an adorable (daughter of Raya) who only appears Silent and observing, will all the facts appear, including the trial and its aftermath, and the audience’s interaction with it, or will the course of events be left to the viewer’s conclusion?

Facts of the real story of Raya and Sakina

What is the truth about (Raya and Sakina), who made people dizzy, the most worthy policemen in Egypt? Where did they come from? What were their circumstances like? How did they move to film and television? Was poverty a way for their heinous crimes, or greed, greed, and lack of faith? The personality of Raya and Sakina, despite its fluctuations and artistic differences, was nothing but a reality that did not change through the archives of the Egyptian police, from the shore of Alexandria and the area (Al-Mursi Abu Al-Abbas) as the Alexandrians call it..

The presence sessions that they used to carry out to rape their victims or to sell alcohol and drugs, and for pleasure seekers

The story began in the first half of the last century, specifically in January 1920, when men and women began to file complaints about the disappearance of their daughters, wives and sisters, and the name of each girl or woman was associated with the name of Raya and Sakina, until the threads of the case began to become clear one thread after another.

The complete file with all details related to the case

We are now in the middle of January 1920, when Mrs. Zainab Hassan, who is about forty years old, filed a report with the Hekmadar of the Alexandria Police about the disappearance of her 25-year-old daughter, Nazla Abu Al-Lail!..

This was the first communication with which the massacre of women began to enter official places. She blames the security services.. The author of the communication said that her daughter Nazla disappeared ten days ago after a woman visited her, leaving her (washing) posted on the roofs.. leaving her apartment without missing anything! Regarding the descriptions of the daughter who disappeared, the mother said that she is a skinny body.. of medium height.. dark-skinned.. she adorns herself with gold jewels in her hand, a silver anklet, and a gold earring ring! ..

The first victim

On March 16, the second communication was received by the head of the Public Prosecution Office of Alexandria, from Mahmoud Morsi, about the disappearance of his sister, Zenouba, the wife of Hassan Muhammad Zaidan.

Tenth victim

It is strange, exciting and surprising that the author, while telling the story of his sister's disappearance, mentioned Ray's name and knife.

Twelfth victim

But the suspicions did not turn to them!

The last victim

Mahmoud Morsi confirmed that his sister Zenouba went out to buy supplies for the house, so she met Sakina and her sister Raya and went with them to

Their home and his sister did not return again! Before the security services become aware of the seriousness of what is going on or wake up from their astonishment in front of the two previous reports, the Public Prosecutor of the Civil Courts receives a report from a fifteen-year-old girl named........... (Umm Ibrahim About the disappearance of her mother, Zenouba Aliwa, a 36-year-old bird seller.

Third victim (first right)

Once again, the author identifies Sakina's name as the last person to meet her mother, Zenouba!

At the same time, the governor of Alexandria receives a report from Hassan Al-Shennawy, Al-Ganayni, next to the Al-Mazoura police station in Al-Kabari.

The author confirms that his wife, Nabih Ali, disappeared twenty days ago! ! !

The matter escapes, and the stories accompany it on every tongue, and Alexandria and other cities ripple with unprecedented panic and terror. The reports did not stop, and the unknown perpetrators are still kidnapping women.

Ali Al-Samni House

Another communication the Governor of Alexandria receives from a carpenter named Muhammad Ahmed Ramadan about the disappearance of his wife, Fatima Abd Rabbo, who is 50 years old and works as a servant sheikh.

And the man gives the descriptions of his wife, as she is wheatish in color, tall, has lost sight in her right eye, and that is why they call her Fatimah, the one-eyed.

Then there was a report about the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl named Qanoua Abdul Mawgoud, and another report from a Syrian merchant named Al-Khawaja Wadih Gerges about the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl named Lulu Marsai, who works as his maid. She went out to buy things from the market and did not return.

Ria

The reports do not stop, and fear dominates all homes, and the story of the women's kidnapping gang is on everyone's lips

Another communication about the disappearance of Salima Ibrahim al-Faqi, a kerosene seller who lives alone in the frankincense neighborhood. Then another communication was received by Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi, deputy sheriff of the frankincense police department, from Mrs. Khadija Haram Ahmed Ali, an employee in Tanta stores. The author of the communication, who is Sudanese, said that her daughter Firdous suddenly disappeared and was adorned with jewelry. Its price is 60 pounds, a pair of bracelets is worth 35 pounds, a shell earring and a heart of gold hanging on a gold chain, and two women’s rings cost three pounds.

Mohamed Abdel-Aal

However, this time, the Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi summoned everyone related to the story of Ferdous's disappearance, and succeeded in tracing her journey out of her home until the moment of her disappearance. Surprisingly, Sakina's name jumped up again to be the last person she was seen with Firdous!

And his knife was summoned, and it was not the first time that Knife entered the police station to ask her about the disappearance of one of the women..... However, his knife came out of the police station, and she brilliantly succeeded in removing all suspicions from her and nullifying all evidence against her!

According to God, happy

The security services failed in the face of all these reports, and it was necessary for heaven's justice to intervene to save people from the cycle of panic, to take revenge on the victims and expose the perpetrators.

And here the surprises continue again when the heavenly justice tightens its grip and weaves the story of coincidence that will reveal the largest massacre of women in the history of crime in Egypt...

It began on the morning of December 11, 1920, when Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi received a telephone signal from the patrol soldier on Abi Darda Street, stating that a woman’s body had been found on the public road. In white, and the owner of the body cannot be identified, the police officers move to the street

There, the area scavenger confirms that he found the body under an old washing basin....

In front of the police officer’s bewilderment, because he did not know the owner of the body, and whether she was absent or not, a visually impaired man named Ahmed Morsi Abda submitted a report to the English Constable John Phillips, a deputy at the Frankincense Department.

The man says in his communication that while he was digging inside his room to get water in and do some plumbing work, he was surprised to find human bones, so he continued digging until he found the rest of the body, which prompted him to report it immediately.

A young lieutenant in the frankincense department gets excited in front of the exciting report, so he hurries himself to the man's house, which was not far from the department more than 50 meters.

The young lieutenant sees the corpse with his own eyes, and becomes more excited to investigate and research the exciting case. In the end, he discovers that he is in front of a new surprise, but this time it is of a very heavy caliber.

The young lieutenant's investigations confirmed that the house in which the man found a human corpse was being rented by a man named Muhammad Ahmed Al-Samni, and this Al-Samni sub-leased the rooms of the house for his own account. She is the one who rented the room in which the man found the body under the tiles.

Knife

The investigations of the very enthusiastic officer confirmed that his knife sub-leased this room and then left it against his will after the owner of the house evicted the original tenant of these rooms, Al-Samni, and therefore the eviction ruling includes the sub-tenants of it, headed by his knife.

Witnesses from the neighbors said that Sakina tried to return to renting the room by all means and temptations, but the owner of the house bowed his head and announced that the return of his knife to the room would only be on his body, and it is certain that the owner of the house was right, as all the neighbors were fed up with Sakina's behavior and the lewd women who frequented it with Some thugs! .

Finally the young lieutenant put his hand on the first thread...

The moment Raya and Sakina were arrested

Two corpses appeared, one of them on the public road, and it was clear that it belonged to a woman, and the second was in a room that was rented by a knife.

It is also clear that it is the corpse of a woman, due to the presence of long hair on the bones of the skull, as confirmed by the examination, and while the officer did not believe himself after the accusing fingers were pointed for the first time towards his knife, the justice of the sky was still there.

Distribute her gifts to the security services, and the unknown corpses will appear.

Ria

Raya was able to deceive Sakina and implicate her, and Sakina was able to deceive the police and implicate some men with her, but the world was never in the mood of Raya or how Sakina was, and no matter how skillful a person is in evil, he will never be stronger than the power of God Almighty.

Thus, Raya and his knife had to collide with a rock of the rocks of time engraved with fate and written

We turn now to: the indictment evidence.

After the two unidentified corpses appeared, one of the secret informants spread all over Alexandria, looking for any news about the women's kidnapping gang.

This informant, whose name was Ahmed Al-Barqi, noticed an intense smell of incense emanating from Raya’s room on the ground floor of Khadija Umm Hassab’s house, on Ali Bek Al-Kabeer Street. Its owner is Reyah, Sakina's sister, except that ((as the informant confirms in his communication)) she was very confused when the informant asked her about the secret of igniting this huge amount of incense in her room, and when the informant insisted on hearing an answer from Reyeh, she told him that she was leaving the room with some men inside. Those who visit her, accompanied by a number of women, and when Raya returns, she finds them gone, and the smell of the room is unbearable.

The room prepared for burial inside Sakina's house in 1920

Raya's answer ignited great suspicion in the chest of the secret informant, Ahmed Al-Barqi, who played a major role that exceeded the role of some generals who later competed to gain fame after the arrest of Raya and his knife, while the name of the secret informant, Ahmed Al-Barqi, disappeared. The informant, Ahmed Al-Barqi, hastened to Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi, the deputy warden of the frankincense department, to inform him of his suspicions about Raya and her room. Immediately, a force of police officers, informants, and prayers moved to the room, to find themselves in front of a new surprise ........

The officer in command of the force saw a box of wood used for storage and sleeping on top of it

The officer orders the room to be evacuated and the attic removed, but the officer discovers again that the tiles on the floor of the room and under the attic are newly installed, unlike the rest of the room’s tiles.

The order is issued to remove the tiles, and whenever the informers remove the tiles, the smell of rottenness escalates in a way that no one can bear...

The Yuzbashi Ibrahim Hamdi persisted until the largest amount of tiles were removed, so the body of a woman was purified. Raya became terrified and her confusion increased, while the officer ordered to complete the excavation and keep the body until he issued a report of the incident in the station. He took Raya with him to the frankincense department, but he hardly reached the gate of the department until he was informed of the find. On the second corpse, rather, the force in Raya's room stumbled upon irrefutable and decisive evidence, which is the seal of God's will, which is tied in a circular rope...

It seems that Hasabullah was hanging it around his neck and he fell from it while burying one of the bodies... ((Oh gentle, glory be to God, there is no perfect crime))

Raya could no longer deny it, especially after a new report reached the officer from his men that a third body had been found

Confessions.

Here, Raya is forced to admit that she did not participate in the killing, but the two men used to leave the room for them, so they would bring women into it, and they may have committed murders in the room during her absence...

Ahmed Al-Jedr "Abdel-Razek"

This is what Raya said at the beginning, identifying the two men as Orabi and Ahmed Al-Jedr, and when the officer asked her about her relationship with them, she said that she had known Orabi for three years because he was a friend of her brother.

The case began to become clear, and the threads began to unravel, bringing the puzzle closer to collapse.

The Public Prosecution orders the arrest of all those whose names were mentioned in the recent reports, especially after the security services came to know the names of the owners of the bodies that were found in Raya’s house. Shahat...

This time, the old Sol came with investigations confirming that Raya was renting another room in Al-Najat neighborhood from Sidi Iskandar Street. The police force moved quickly to the new address and ordered the new residents to vacate two rooms.

The officers made sure that Sakinah rented one of them for a while, and Raya kept the other.

In Sina's room there was a wooden sander similar to the same sander that was in Raya's room. The same procedures for removing the sander and digging under the tiles are done, and the bodies begin to appear again! .

The picture became completely clear, corpses in all the rooms that Raya and Sakina rented in houses No. 5 Makoris St., 38 Ali Bek Al-Kabeer St., 8 Al-Najat Alley and 6 Al-Najat Alley. For the first time, the order was issued to wax Sakina's house.

After this inspection, the security services are encouraged and their appetite is opened to collect more evidence so that the case does not escape from the hands of justice.

The officers go to the homes of all the arrested suspects, and Lieutenant Ahmed Abdullah of the Investigation Force finds jewelry, photos and a bill of exchange worth one hundred and twenty pounds in the house of the accused Orabi Hassan. The same officer also finds papers and other documents in Ahmed Al-Jidr's house. At this time, the enthusiasm of the young lieutenant Abdel Ghaffar had not cooled. He continued digging in Raya's room until a new body of one of the women was found.

After that, information spreads to the warden of the frankincense department, Muhammad Kamal, that Raya used to live in another house in Karmouz, and the sheikh of the neighborhood confirms this information and says that Raya left this residence on the pretext that the area is notorious, and a police force takes Raya from prison to her house in Karmouz. On the body of a new woman!

Evidence continued, although the strongest of them was the Prophet's robe, which was found in Sakina's house, and some of the women's friends of the Prophet confirmed that the robe belonged to her.

It is that they exchange robes, and that she gave his prophethood a robe and took from her this robe that the detectives found in Sakina's house.

Sakina succeeded a lot in eluding the detectives, but Raya shortened the way and preferred to confess early. Raya said at the beginning of her confession that she was a naive woman, and that men used to come to her room with women during her absence, then kill the women before her presence, and that she only attended one murder, and the Public Prosecution Office singled out the largest evidence witness in the case, beautiful. Raya's daughter, who asked for safety before confessing, so that her aunt Sakina and her husband would not take revenge on her. Indeed, they reassured her, so she confessed the facts of luring women to her aunt's house and men slaughtering and burying them.

Despite Badi’a’s full confessions, she tried to mitigate the role of her mother, Raya, even at the expense of her aunt Sakina, while Sakina, when she confessed definitively, reduced the role of her husband, then announced in front of the prosecutor that she was in love with him and asked that they excuse her after Sakina learned that Ria had confessed in a confrontation between them in front of the prosecution.

Sayings terrible graying of the head.

Sakina said that Ria is her older sister and knows more about life than her, and that she will confess everything like her. Sakina's confessions came like a loud bomb. My leg was swollen, and Raya asked me to go with her to her house. I apologized for not being able to walk, but Raya encouraged me until I got up with her.

She said to me (No..it is necessary to seep from the top of it, or some blood is shed).... When we arrived at Raya's house, I found there my husband Abdel-Aal, and according to God, Raya's husband, Arabi, and Abdel-Razek. They were digging under the sander, and when they felt that I was afraid, they told me that we were four and eight in eight, and if I spoke, they would treat me like Hanim! The fee for the barber who opened the tax, but when I was returning, I said to myself that they are like this with me so that I remain his partner for them and they guarantee that I will not open anything left))

In the rest of her confessions, Sakina tells the story of the killing of 17 women and girls, but she confirms that her sister Raya was the one who implicated her the first time in exchange for three pounds, and after that she was getting her share of every crime without having the ability to object for fear that Abdel-Aal and his men would kill her! ....

The confessions of the defendants, Abdel-Aal, the young man who started his life in circumstances that had nothing to do with his will, continue.

His family asked him to marry his brother's widow, but he did not object, and he did not know that he would marry the biggest female butcher in the history of the crime, and God suffices the young man who fell into the arms of his knife four years away from his mother, who suddenly comes to ask about her ungrateful son, so she discovers that he married a knife and meets her. So the mother weeps and asks her son to divorce this woman immediately, but according to God, the stream of love sweeps him to his knife, then his knife sweeps him to the gallows, so that he remembers while he is in front of Ashmawy that if he responded to his mother’s advice, life would have been his portion until he met his Lord with the consent of the parents, and not with a loud scandal. There was a story behind every accused person. Behind every tragic death...

The pleading of the Chief Prosecutor ends the life of the thugs

The Public Prosecution Office put its hand on all the details so that the Chief Prosecutor presented a wonderful pleading in the court session that took place on May 10, 1921. Attendance at the trial was with special tickets. As for the ordinary audience, which was crowded tightly to watch the accused in the cage, it was standing behind wooden barriers. In his historical pleading, the Chief Prosecutor said:

This crime is one of the most horrible crimes, and it is the first crime of its kind. Even the public who attended it wanted to tear the accused to pieces before they reached the judiciary.

This gang was formed about three years ago. The accused fled from Upper Egypt to Beni Suef, then to Kafr El-Zayat. Sakina was one of the girls of passion, but she did not continue due to her illness. Her husband was in Kafr El-Zayat claiming that he works in cotton.

But he was engaged in crimes and thefts, and after that the two accused traveled, Hassab Allah and Abd al-Aal, and Sakinah and Raya agreed to open houses of passion, and everyone who exposed them to them was confronted by my godfather who was protecting them, and Abdel Razek was like him like a godfather who protected the house in Al-Najat lane, and it was proven from the investigations that my godfather is Who advised Raya to open the house of Ali Bey Al-Kabeer Street. As for the subject of the case, the absence of women occurred in succession, and everyone who was absent reported her, and that was a futile method because the investigations and investigations were incomplete, although the reports were referred to the prosecution, and the administration ordered to search and investigate the absent women until they appeared. The corpse, the Ministry of Interior amended the method of investigation for those who reported it, and the last one of the women who was absent was Firdous on November 12

The eighth victim

She was reported on November 15, and during the investigations and the report on her absence, one of the people, called Morsi, who was visually impaired, was digging next to Raya's house, and he found the body of a human being, so he told his uncle, who informed the police. The police pressed the house and asked Raya, and the first word she said was that Orabi Hassan was the killer after she instructed about the bodies, and three bodies were found, and Raya accused Ahmed Al-Jedr and said that his wife used to lead the women to the house, and it turned out otherwise, and that his wife only went to Raya’s house once, and that Her accusation was out of place, and Sakina also confessed, a clearer confession than Raya’s confession. Then Hasaballah and Abdel-Al were brought in, and in front of them, Raya and Sakina said, “We confessed,” so each of them confessed confessions that were not tainted by any flaw. When the head of the prosecution started talking about the accused, Amina Bint Mansour, Amina said, “I am wronged.” She shouted

It contains a knife from inside the dock ((How is it wronged when there is a corpse buried in your house? You are the origin of everything from the beginning))...

Ria and Sakina

The head of the prosecution goes on to reach the climax of excitement in his case when he says: The prosecution requests the death penalty for the first seven defendants, including (Al-Haratain) Raya and Sakina, because the reasons that justified not sentencing the women to death have disappeared, which is that the execution was carried out outside the prison.. As for Now, the execution takes place inside the prison. This is what the court ruled in its public session held in the cells of the Alexandria Civil Court on the day

Monday, May 16, 1921 corresponding to Ramadan 8, 1339).

Ashmawy and his assistant, with the rope that was used to hang Raya and Sakina's gang

The death sentence was carried out in Alexandria on December 21 and 22, 1921

the end

On Wednesday, December 21, 1921, the sun had hardly risen when the black flags were raised on the mast of Al-Hadra prison, announcing that a death sentence would be executed.

A heinous human crime that is considered one of the most chilling crimes in Egyptian history, not only because it witnessed the killing of 17 women, but because its heroes were two women who were the first two women to carry out the death penalty in the history of Egypt.

The panic and panic aroused by the gang case of Raya and Sakina made their trial historic, so that its attendance was ticketed, at a time when the ordinary audience was standing crowded to see the defendants who began to kill women, and dig up their bodies in their place of residence, where they eat, drink, and practice their normal lives above Dead bodies!

Raya and Sakina were stripped of their feelings of humanity, when they set out to form a gang in which their husbands participated, and they worked to lure women, and killed them for stealing them just because they needed money, until their infernal idea reached the loss of 17 lives.

The last victim of Raya and Sakina was Firdous, who was absent on November 12, and was reported on November 15. The author, Mrs. Khadija Haram Ahmed Ali, a Sudanese employee in Tanta stores, said that her daughter Firdous suddenly disappeared, and she was adorned with jewelry that cost 60 pounds and a pair of bracelets for that price. 35 pounds, a shell earring and a heart of gold attached to a gold chain, and two women's rings for three pounds, after which the gang's threads began to open before the investigation authorities, especially after the bodies of women were found in houses previously rented by Raya and Sakina.

The case of Raya and Sakina, and their husbands, Hasaballah, and Abd al-Aal, respectively, when they entered the prison, and before the execution of the death sentence on them between 21/22/12/1921, came in documents published by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, which are the forensic reports on the executed prisoners. hanging, as follows:

And at half past seven, the execution committee lined up in front of the execution chamber, and the prison guards came to "Ria", and she was wearing red execution clothes and a white cap on her head. It was recited by the District Commissioner Abdel Fattah Saleh, the prison warden

Then, "Muhammad Hedaya" Pasha, the governor of Alexandria, asked her if she needed anything, and she said that she wanted to see her daughter, "Badi'a." The warden told him that she had visited her two days ago. It was mentioned in Ornik, Prisons No. 169, which includes a doctor’s report on prisoners sentenced to death by hanging. Her weight when entering the prison was 42 kilograms. When the sentence was executed, it increased to 50 kilograms and a half within nearly a year. The last phrase she said was (I bid you farewell, my beautiful daughter By the Hand of God) Then she uttered the two testimonies, her pulse continued for two minutes, and she remained suspended for half an hour.

Shortly after eight o'clock, "Sakina" was taken to the execution yard, and she was moving and talking a lot while the prison warden read to her the text of the verdict, and she muttered phrases related to what she heard. When the verdict mentioned that she had killed 17 women, she said (I killed them with my own hands?!) Then She said defiantly (Yes, I killed and fooled the frankincense police..and I was hanged and I don't care..I am a stump) and when she entered the gallows room, she said to the executioner while he was tying her hands behind her back (I am going to run away, and I do not prevent hanging with my hands..compute.. I am true, but a stump and death is a right) and when she was under the ropes, she said (forgive us... we may play with you) and the report of the prison doctor, "Abdullah Ezzat," said that "Sakina bint Ali Hammam" entered the prison and her weight was 47 kilograms, she rose to 53 kilos before execution, and that she entered while she was in good health and was not suffering from anything except from scabs all over her body, and when execution was bold and composure, and that the last phrase she uttered was (I am a stump and you will be hanged in the place of stumps and I killed 17 and The government took care of it) Then she uttered the two testimonies and her pulse continued for four minutes and remained suspended for half an hour.

At about nine o'clock they came with "Assab Allah Saeed" and he was also calm, but he commented on the operative part of the death sentence saying: "You say I killed 17...the truth is that they are only 15...and if we want to count them one by one and name them as well...even if I lived." One year too, I would have cut off the backs of prostitutes, and forbade them to walk in the streets. Tie it as you want.. it's all death) and his words about prostitutes and selling symptoms were rough, not written, and he kept repeating it out loud until he fell into the execution pit, and Ornik 169 stated that his weight was 70 kilograms, which rose to 72 kilograms before execution, and His pulse lasted for 3 minutes and remained suspended for half an hour.

And the next day - Thursday, December 22, 1921 - the first to be executed was "Abdul Raziq Yusuf", who resisted the guards while he was being taken to the execution yard, forcing them to drag him by force and then to handcuff him with irons to his back. He is innocent.. And the doctor's report said that he weighed 78 kilograms when entering prison, it increased to 81 kilograms upon execution, and his health condition was good except for the traces of itching on the buttocks, and he was pale in color and weak at the time of execution, and the last thing he uttered was (Mazloum) and then He pronounced the two testimonies, his pulse continued for 3 minutes, and he remained suspended for half an hour.

And at the eighth, they brought “Mohammed Abdel-Al”, and he was strong-willed and strong-willed, and when the verdict was pronounced against him, he said (Peace be upon the Prophet, I killed seven, not seventeen) and his weight had increased from 67 kilograms to 74 kilograms before execution, and it was the last thing He said it before pronouncing the two testimonies (shoulder.. pull your hand) and his pulse continued for five minutes and remained suspended for half an hour.

And in the eighth and 40 minutes, the last one came, “Arabi Hassan,” and he more than repudiated the crime, and said that he would meet his Lord with clean hands, and he was losing strength. His pulse for two minutes and he was suspended for half an hour.

On the first day of the execution of the death sentences, a group of women surrounded the prison in the "Genina El-Ayyouni" area in the Al-Labban district, chanting and ululating. (Long live the one who killed Raya.. Long live the one who killed Sakina).

Badia bint Raya died burnt as a result of a fire in the shelter, and this is what came in the book Raya and Sakina by Ibrahim Issa

The heroes of the story, as we all know them.. Raya and Sakina, and Abdel Aal, and God’s will, and the adorable little girl..

And those who lived in the Al-Labban neighborhood located between the Al-Mansheya neighborhood and the Al-Basal port area in Alexandria. The neighborhood is still to this day, and despite the passage of more than 85 years since the execution of that gang that inhabited it, it retains its memories of Raya and Sakina, starting with the stories of the old residents of the street, passing through the house that was built in place of Raya and Sakina’s house after it was demolished, ending with their pictures that were made into a police station. The neighborhood is a haven for thrill-seekers and crime news.

Of course, some features of the neighborhood have changed since the 1920s, which witnessed the crimes of Raya and Sakina. The frankincense police station, which was called at the time “Karakoun Al-Lumban”, was moved to another place, so that its location turned into a yard planted with some trees, behind which lies an old one-storey house, distinguished by an iron door covered with rust. Strangers from the neighborhood believe that it is the house that witnessed the crimes of Raya and Sakina, which is denied by the old men and elders of the neighborhood, the most famous of whom is Hajj Mustafa, the oldest tailor in the region.

And he said: “The house of Raya and Sakina has been deserted for a long time, and no one dared to live in it after confirmed rumors spread that it was haunted by ghosts. Until it was the mid-fifties, when it was inhabited by one of the fatwas whom people called him “Mahmoud Ibn Raya” because of his wide reputation for criminality and people’s inability to confront him. He would enter the house at night and sleep in it, and I would see him bring out the marble pieces that formed the floor of the house to sell it. As a result, the house collapsed on him

After a few days, we took him out and took him to the hospital, where he died a few days after the accident.” Hajj Mustafa goes on in his memories: “The house remained a pile of dirt. People used to call it the “ruin” until the early sixties, when the land was sold for 60 pounds, and a house of five floors was built in its place, which bears No. 5 on Muhammad Yusuf Fakhr Street, whose name was Past Macoris».

The famous sentence of execution of Raya and Sakina

Alexandria Criminal Court:

The police of the Frankincense Department in Alexandria received ten reports of the disappearance of ten women. These reports were submitted by their relatives and the Public Prosecution office kept them because they were not guided to know the whereabouts of those women or the reasons for their absence. And the sanctity of Sakina Bint Hammam, the second of the accused, lived in that era a room in a rented house, so the owner made some improvements that a new tenant asked of him, and while he was digging in the floor of the room in which Sakina was staying in order to install water pipes, he found the body of a woman who was buried in it, so he notified the department With that, and by continuing digging in the floor of that room, two bodies of two women were also found in it, other than the first body. Then I dug the floor of another room for Sakina in a house located in Al-Najat neighborhood, and found a fourth body in it. In the ground floor, the female corpse is occupied by Amina (---) the eighth accused. She found twelve bodies of women buried in the first room, and another body of a woman buried in the second room. Those bodies, totaling seventeen, are the bodies of the women whose names are indicated in the referral order. All of these shops were prepared for prostitution secretly, and the prostitutes were women They frequented it sometimes of their own accord and at other times at the request of Raya and Sakina to drink intoxicants and commit fornication therein. The management of the aforementioned shops was shared between Raya and Sakina and their profits were divided between them.

And since Sakina was interrogated before the prosecution, she decided that the victims were coming at the invitation of her and her sister, Raya, to those houses to meet the men, where these accused were waiting for them, insisting on their agreement with her and her sister, Raya, to kill those women and steal what they had of jewelry.

Weapons with which the gang resisted the police during their arrest

In order to facilitate their killing, they were offered strong-acting liquor, a few of which were sufficient to make them so drunk that they could not attempt any resistance or distress, so those accused seized the opportunity to assassinate them by holding their breath and strangulation. The others were holding her hands, legs, chest or mouth to prevent her from making any movement until their colleague did what he did and the woman died.

"For these reasons."

After reviewing the aforementioned legal texts, the court ruled in the presence of Raya, Sakina Binti (---), Hasab Allah (---), Muhammad (---), Orabi (---) and Abdul Razeq (---) to the death penalty.

This is what the court ruled in its public session held in the cells of the Alexandria Civil Court on (Monday, May 16, 1921, corresponding to Ramadan 8, 1339).

"Raya and Sakina"... two serial killers who wrote the history of the execution of the first woman in Egypt

Salah Issa: Obtaining information about "Raya and Sakina" thanks to the investigator who interrogated them

They are in the middle of the Muhammed Ali Museum, with a picture that only shows their frightened faces, and next to them is another picture of a murdered person surrounded by a group of officers, the blurry (black and white) photography hides their features and ranks, and the identity of those in the two pictures is known only by an illustration written on it "Raya and Sakina And the other is “The Line of Upper Egypt”, so that all the terrifying legends surrounding their stories will be resurrected, and the images will remain engraved in the memory of children despite the passage of many years since their school trip to Salah al-Din Castle, and it is deduced that women lead for the first time the starring roles on criminal posters and men accept secondary roles, Without news of disagreements filling the place.

"Raya and Sakina" dug the most heinous crimes of murder and forced theft in Egyptian history, and wrote in the blood of their victims the date of the execution of the first woman in Egypt in December 1921. Many women were killed, in 4 houses located near Al-Manshia Square, and the "Sat Street" market near Al-Manshia Square was the place from which the two butchers hunted most of their victims.

The women outside Al-Hadra prison received the news of the execution of the death sentence for the two butchers, chanting: "Long live the one who killed Raya...Long live the one who killed Sakina...Long live the one who killed Hasab Allah." The accounts varied about these two women, and many newspapers and channels held interviews with the residents of the same neighborhood. They all agreed not to document this period, and the different reasons that prompted the two women to commit these crimes.

“The credit for obtaining information about Raya and Sakina goes back to the investigation files in the case, and that had it not been for the investigator who was interrogating Raya and Sakina and his creativity in writing the investigation, we would not have known much about their lives,” according to journalist Salah Issa, in one of his interviews, and added that “the investigator asks Raya And Sakina about their history, and what they used to do when they were young, as if he was trying to gather as much information as possible, even though that was not related to the circumstances of the crimes he was investigating.

The story of Raya and Sakina was an inspiration to many drama writers, so it turned into 6 different works, which were embodied in the movie “Raya and Sakina”, produced in 1953, starring Najma Ibrahim, Zouzou Hamdi Al-Hakim, Farid Shawky, Anwar Wajdi, Shukri Sarhan, and the movie “Ismail Yassin”. What happened to the girl who confessed to "Ria and Sakina"?

The story of Raya and Sakina, the two thugs who killed women with the participation of their husbands, in order to obtain jewelry and ornaments, is not hidden from anyone, but few of us know what happened after the death sentence was issued and its execution against the four personalities” (Ria, Sakina, Hasab Allah, Abdel-Al).

It is known that the one who confessed to Raya and Sakina was "Badi'a, Raya's daughter," who had great love for her mother, despite the mother's horrible behavior with her.

In this report, we will shed light on the character of "Badi'a," the child who suffered from the scourge of injustice, societal poverty, and emotional drought by her family, and from the great guilt she carried in her heart because of what she did to her family. What happened to Raya's daughter after her family's execution? A fact that some people do not know.

Badia is the only daughter of Raya, according to God, and her parents did not give birth to anyone else. It is said that Raya had previously been pregnant before and after her with nearly 10 children, but all of them died either immediately after giving birth or that she had aborted them during pregnancy.

The life of Badia, the innocent girl, was very tragic. Any child of her age has dreams and desires that limit her to owning a toy or getting a new dress or shoes. In fact, Badia was a very ordinary child despite her existence in a dirty environment because of the poverty that surrounded her family and the corruption of their morals and principles.

It is difficult to imagine that a child lives in the same house with a murderous family without her morals being affected by that, but Badia was different, as her parents' actions did not lead her to learn theft or fraud, or even their participation in the killing process. What she saw as exquisite was planting fear and cowardice in her heart, and she was, as it is said in the Egyptian dialect, “very overpowering,” and her desires were a little less than what children of her age demand.

The house in which Badia lived with her parents has remained the same since then:

In the past, Egyptian women used to wear a "handkerchief" on their heads, and young girls wore handkerchiefs decorated with beautiful colors and shapes that made Badia yearn for one of these handkerchiefs. napkin..but how?

Inside the women's alley

It is said that one of the women who were betrayed was wearing a beautiful handkerchief that Raya, Sakina and their partners did not notice, so Badia took it and put it on her head.

Despite her loss of confidence in herself and those around her, she was madly in love with her mother, despite the latter's cruelty with her. It is strange that we feel intense love for a person who is the reason for our lack of comfort, safety and confidence. Badia was feeling guilty towards her mother, who apparently did not feel it until the moment of execution, as the last sentence that Raya said at the time of her execution in 1921 at the age of about 35 years was, “I entrusted you, O Badia, my daughter with God, and she pronounced the two testimonies after that.

A picture of Sakina and Abdel-Al on their wedding day

After that, Badiaa was placed in an orphanage, and she was treated very horribly, and this was normal given that she is the daughter of "Ria" the murderer. Three years later, a big fire broke out in the orphanage, in which Badiaa died burnt, and thus the curtain came down on her tragic story, where she lived guilty and died burnt.

It seems that Badia's story should have ended with her death, so if we imagined the scenario that her life would be like if she had grown up and lived in that period, she would have been miserable, as she would either complete the path of her parents and become a criminal, or be a good person who would not be able to coexist with society because of its bad view of her.

Badia accompanied by her mother, Raya:

In pictures, the burial chamber in the house of Raya and Sakina, tales of horror in Alexandria

The house of Raya and Sakina in the Al-Lubban district of Alexandria is one of the most famous places for the bride of the Mediterranean, due to the brutal crimes that this house witnessed, committed by two of the bloodiest women in the history of Egypt, who professionally hunted and killed women with the aim of stealing and burying them in the same house in which they lived.

As soon as you reach the 'Frankincense Krakon', which is the police station in which the two thugs confessed to their crimes, you will find dozens of people who offer their assistance to those who pass through this area, especially children under 15 years of age, who show signs of terror and fear once they reach this house because it is a scary place full of ghosts, according to what is being circulated. people from this area.

When you arrive at Raya and Sakina's house, all the concepts embodied in Egyptian films and cinema about Raya and Sakina's house change, because the original owner of the house demolished it more than 40 years ago and built a new house in its place consisting of three floors.

Inside the house of Raya and Sakina in Alexandria, entering the burial room used by the two serial killers to bury 17 bodies of their female victims, and listening to the story of this house, the truth about what is being raised around it, the impressions and feelings of its new residents, and the events witnessed in this house after the exhumation of the bodies of the victims and the arrest and execution of the two serial killers.

We interviewed Hajj Muhammad, who lives on the ground floor, and he was the first to live in the house after the incident of the execution of Raya and Sakina. He confirmed that he was aware of the incident before he lived in this house, and that many of his friends warned him about it for fear that the demons of the victims would appear to him, but he was not convinced and insisted on living in it.

And his daughter confirmed that there is nothing frightening about living in the house, and since they lived in it until now, they did not see anything out of the ordinary, despite the proximity of their apartment to the burial room from which the police extracted 17 bodies, which has now become a light for the building.

Mahmoud pointed out

One of the oldest residents of the region, whose father, Haj Mustafa, witnessed the arrest of Raya and Sakina, but his father told him a lot about this house, and that the house remained deserted for a long time, and no one dared to live in it after rumors spread about the existence of ghosts and goblins, and more than Someone said that he saw it himself, so fear and terror spread among the residents to the extent that they were not walking on the street where the house is located.

This isolation and fear remained until the mid-fifties, when one of the bullies whom the residents called Mahmoud Ibn Raya decided, due to the many quarrels and problems he was doing in the region and considering him the biggest thug in it, who decided to prove and show his temptation, strength and control to enter the house at night and sleep in it, until he took it as a residence. For a long time amidst the astonishment and admiration of the residents of the area for his courage, pointing out that the residents of the area then discovered that he was stealing the floors of the house and selling them, until a large part of the house collapsed on him while he was sleeping inside, and he was taken to the hospital and died days later.

And Mahmoud went on to say that he experienced the house as a child after it collapsed and became a ruin in which the children had fun and told fictional stories from their imaginations by watching ghosts in the house, until the land was sold and a new house was built on it amid the astonishment and fear of the residents of the area who waited for what would happen to those who will live in it, stressing that all residents are in The house has not seen any ghosts since its construction until now.

He said that the Egyptian cinema and films fabricated sub-stories that were denied by the indigenous people who lived through that period, including his father. She was placed in care homes. She was the daughter of one of the victims, not her daughter.

Suleiman Bey Ezzat, the prosecutor who impaled Priya and Sakina

And he went on to say that his father, may God have mercy on him, was confirming to him that while Raya and Sakina lived in the house, they did not notice any suspicious movements except for the frequent visits that the two butchers confirmed were for their relatives, and the neighbors did not suspect them at all.

The story of Raya and Sakina is a vivid embodiment of one of the heinous crimes that shook Egypt in the year 1920, as part of it occurred in the Al-Lubban neighborhood, the poorest area in the port of Alexandria, which witnessed the killing of 17 women, and the burial of their bodies inside the house that was used in various suspicious actions.

One of the seizure scenarios

Raya and Sakina began a series of brutal crimes in Alexandria in early November 1919, at a time when the coastal city was preoccupied with the famous popular uprisings by leaders against the occupying British forces, allowing the gang to operate with impunity.

The criminal gang began working in Alexandria for more than three years, after coming from Upper Egypt to Beni Suef and Kafr El Zayat to marry Raya Hasaballah Saeed Merhi, while her sister Sakina worked in a brothel until she fell in love with a man.

Raya, accompanied by her husband, and Sakina, accompanied by her lover, moved to many places where they used to attract victims, and four houses in Alexandria witnessed these crimes after the two serial killers moved to live in them, including the market of Al-Sat Street near Al-Manshiya Square, from which the two serial killers hunted most of their victims, and the addresses of the houses are : 5 Macoris Street in Karmouz neighborhood, 38 Ali Bek Al-Kabeer Street, 16 Al-Najah lane, 8 Al-Najah lane.

Raya used to go to the market and choose the person who had the many ornaments and jewelry in her hand, and she would talk to her to get close to her, and then she would be offered utensils from the customs area claiming that they were at cheap prices, and Raya would bring the victim to the house to kill her with the help of her husband, sister, and her sister’s lover, in addition to Hassan’s godfathers. and Abdel Razek Youssef, who are one of the assistants.

In this place they hid some of their victims' clothes
